SUMMER KITCHEN (10X15)... HANDY TO THE OUTDOORS

Owner: My friends ask me,"Why did you put 2 kitchens in this house?"  For convenience to the gazebo and my herb gardens. We were always eating out in the summer time and it makes sense to have a smaller kitchen closer.  After my husband's passing I added a small sun room to watch the backyard. I needed the light and wanted to watch the falling snow.

SUN ROOM (10X11) WITH DOOR TO GAZEBO

10x85 CONNECTOR TO GUEST SUITE

Owner: The 10x85' corridor to the guest suite is a blessing in the summer when you have wind and rain coming down.. and even more so in the winter! Putting my picnic tables and chairs in the corridor made winter storage convenient. Didn't have to worry about the weather.  I put 9 new Anderson windows in this summer and it was so warm on cool days.

GUEST SUITE (13X30) HAS KITCHEN, FULL BATH
Owner: I shall miss my guest house. It's so convenient for friends and family to stay and not have to worry about bothering any one else in the house.

GUEST SUITE HAS OUTDOOR ENTRY AND ENTRY TO OFFICE

SMALL OFFICE ATTACHED TO GUEST SUITE (8X11)

SPA ROOM WITH EMERALD SPA

Owner:  This is truly a great place to be in winter and summer. I know... I have lived on this lake permanently for 16 yrs.  I gave leaving Stone Edge a lot of thought and many tears.

I can pack up my memories. I only wish I could pack up my house.  I love this house and location. It will be very difficult to leave .

HERE'S WHAT THE AREA BELOW LOOKS LIKE IN SUMMER!
Owner:
The gardens in the summer are so lush and beautiful. I will miss them when I move.

MOUNTAIN MEADOWS COMMUNITY PRIVATE DOCK & BOAT RAMP

Owner:  I have found over the years that going to the lake, having a great time and being able to leave without worrying about the dock and launch area, has some real advantages.  The  Property Owners Assoc. has to maintain and care for area.  Believe me, we had a lakefront property and keeping the dock maintained turned out to be a lot of work. Our other house was just below this one, on the lake, so I have experienced both on and off the lake. Being off the lake, I have the same privileges... without the hassle.

Mount Storm Lake:
Mount Storm Lake is unique among all of West Virginia's lakes. And there is no other place like Mountain Meadows on Mt. Storm Lake. The lake was built long ago as a cooling lake for Vepco's (now Dominion) coal-fired Mt. Storm Power Plant. As a result, the water stays warm year-round (summer: 90+ degrees, winter: 60+ degrees). Water is clean. SCUBA divers use it year-round and flock to it because of it's warmth. Since most of the lake shore is owned by either the power company or coal companies, the lake has very little development on it. This means you can sail on weekdays in the summer without power boats and that you can ski even on holiday weekends with little traffic on the lake. While the power plant is visible from most homes on this lake, most at Mountain Meadows instead look out onto a tranquil bay on the lake.  Mountain  Meadows has good roads and easy access, excellent resale value, bit properties are priced at a fraction of land at Deep Creek Lake, in nearby Garrett County, MD. Close to the ski slopes at Canaan Valley and Timberline, Blackwater Falls State Park, the million-acre Monongahela National Forest, the Nature Conservancy's Greenland Gap Preserve and many other recreational resources.

PUBLIC DOCK/BEACH ACROSS LAKE           POWER PLANT ON  LAKE
(POWER PLANT (1 MILE AWAY) IS VISIBLE FROM FRONT YARD BUT NOT FROM INSIDE THE HOME)

Protective Covenants and Restrictions at Mountain Meadows:
Protective Covenants are in place and become an integral part of the deed for each lot. According to the covenants, these lots are intended for "one (single-family) private dwelling or recreational residence designed for occupancy by a family" and must be of "not less than 1000 square feet on the first floor". In addition, "No house trailers, mobile homes, double-wides, trucks, buses, dilapidated cars or unsightly vehicles of any type or description may be stored, abandoned or used for any type of storage facility". In furtherance of the intended uses, "Farm animals such as poultry, swine, cattle, goats, horses, etc., shall not be permitted", and "Motorized vehicles such as go-carts, ATVs, 4-wheelers and 3-wheelers are strictly restricted from use". Also, "No trapping of any wildlife or game animals for business or for pleasure", and further, "no hunting or discharging of any firearms, pellet guns, and BB guns shall be permitted". The Mountain Meadows Property Owners Association "shall establish a reasonable assessment for necessary expenses relative to a development of this type and nature". That fee is currently $100 per year.

NOTE:   HUNTING & ATVs ARE NOT PERMITTED AT MOUNTAIN MEADOWS

Please request a full set of covenants by email, or I can give you a set at the property.

Corridor H:  A new 4-lane highway known as "Corridor H" has been approved to run to the north of Mt Storm Lake. Long in planning, this 4-lane highway is planned to connect the central part of WV with the Northern VA area. 20 miles have been completed from Wardensville, WV, to Moorefield, WV and the next 14 miles, from Moorefield to Forman is currently under construction. The next 28 miles, from Forman to Mount Storm Lake, is scheduled to begin construction in spring of 2007. When complete, this road should reduce travel time by 30-45 minutes. According to current plans, the highway will not be visible from this property. See the local map and learn more at the Official Corridor H web site. Get the best maps at the Corridor H Interactive Mapping site.
